How to arrive

The XXI Congress of the Spanish Association for Energy Economics will be held at the University of Navarra Campus (Pamplona). All activities will take place in the following campus buildings

Arriving by plane

Pamplona has a convenient and modern airport (IATA: PNA) just 10 minutes from the city centre, with direct routes to Madrid (operated by Iberia Regional) and to Tenerife and Gran Canaria (operated by Binter).

Thanks to an agreement with the Mancomunidad de la Comarca de Pamplona, travellers can get between the city centre and the airport for just €0.60 through an advance booking system. More information: https://www.mcp.es/transporte/. Without a prior reservation, the approximate taxi fare is €15.

Arriving from other airports

  • Vitoria Airport (IATA: VIT): Located just 90 km from Pamplona, it offers domestic and international flights operated by Ryanair, as well as services to Madrid and Barcelona operated by Volotea. Vitoria is connected to Pamplona by train and bus (approx. 60 minutes). Local buses also connect Vitoria city centre with the airport.
  • Bilbao Airport (IATA: BIO): Located 160 km from Pamplona, it offers short, medium and long-haul flights. A direct bus service connects Bilbao and Pamplona in approximately 2 hours.
  • Other nearby airports: San Sebastián (IATA: EAS), Biarritz (IATA: BIQ), and Logroño (IATA: RJL).

Arriving by train

Pamplona's train station is located in the San Jorge neighbourhood, to the west of the city centre. Travellers can easily reach the centre by urban bus lines 9 (towards the centre) and 7 (towards the hospitals). Taxis are also available at the station.

The station offers long-distance Alvia services with direct connections to Madrid and Barcelona, as well as other cities including Zaragoza, Gijón, Burgos and Logroño.

Arriving by car

Pamplona sits at a crossroads of motorways and dual carriageways, offering easy road access from across Spain and southwestern France. The city is connected via the AP-15 (direct link to Zaragoza and Madrid), the A-15 (towards San Sebastián and the Cantabrian coast), and the A-1/AP-68 (from Bilbao, Vitoria and Logroño). Its proximity to the French border also makes it easily reachable from cities such as Bordeaux (3 hours) and Pau (2 hours).
